About the Author
Asheesh Mamgain is a journalist hailing from bustling New Delhi, India. His life until now has been a rich tapestry of experiences and that is how he intends to keep it. He grew up in a fast-changing cosmopolitan city, with the summers spent exploring the lush Doon valley, swimming in cool streams near his grandparents’ home.
As a young journalist he traversed India from end to end; casting fishing lines into Goan waters alongside native fishermen, communing with monks in ancient monasteries soaking in centuries-old wisdom, living with the villagers protesting against the imminent submergence of their homes in the damming of River Narmada, understanding the challenges faced by the villagers living on the edge of Sundarbans, or delving into the labyrinthine alleys of old Delhi looking for culinary treasures and old havelis.
In his journalistic career he has interviewed legendary musicians of Hindustani classical music, eminent artists, literary personalities and film directors besides profiling many interesting people.
In short, he is in love with everything good in life, from music, movies, photography, fine art, tennis, long solitary walks, reading, food, cycling and good conversations.
This is his first collection of short stories to be published.
